Day 1 of SemII..

A bit not used to long lectures & was expecting the lecturer to end the lesson early at 815pm but well, the lecturer seems very high & only stopped at 915pm..

ok lah, still 15 mins earlier.. better than nothing.

Caught the NUS shuttle to Kent Ridge and Circle line seems pretty fast & efficient to get home.

By the time I'm home, Naomi is already asleep.

Waited a while for her mid nite feed.

Bottled fed her, whisper a bit to her and sayang her to sleep. :)

Seeing Naomi makes me so so so so happy.

i love this self portrait

1st time bringing Naomi out on our own and i would say its pretty fun and challenging!

Brought her for her 2nd month 6in1 injection and by the time we reached the clinic, we were told that there are 15 patients before me and I shld come after 1.5 hrs.

Made our way to northpt, scout for lunch place where there is comfy seats for Naomi to rest on.

Cartel wasn't opened yet and so we settled for Wendy's.

I would say 5 star to Wendy's customer service cos they actually brought the food to our table when they see that we are carrying Naomi.

Unfortunately, food wise, pretty sucks..

Can't recall what burger i was having but the texture of the bacon like thingy was super super chewy,

macam rubber band like that...

We then made our way to the clinic where Naomi had her detailed checkup.

Had her injection where she cry n cry n cry..

Checkup wise, everything is fine except that Naomi seems to tilt her head to the side.

We gotta pay attention to her sleeping posture so hopefully during the next check, everything will get the green light.

Time really passes so so fast.

Exactly 2 months ago, Naomi was just born n super tiny..

and now, she has grown soooo much...

At times she can be a really chatty gal and its real nice listening to her 'talk'.

However Naomi's a little impatient as well.. in the sense that when she wants her milk and when she gotta wait, she SCREAMS... Wifey says this is inherit from me... :(

Anyway its great seeing Naomi grow healthily everyday.

God have been good to me.

2011 have been a great year for me.

Managed to pass my studies for 2011.

God gave us little Naomi.

We got the keys to our new place.

Come 2012.

For work,

Work will be much tougher/crazier this year under the new management and for now,

I don't see myself working in this organization for 3 more years.

At home,

I'm glad that I have my mother in law to help us in taking care and showing so much love to Naomi.

I just hope that the series of disappointment she faces in 2011 will fade in 2012 although as of now, there isn't any signs of that happening.. and I'm pretty frustrated by it too.

This year's Christmas is a whole lotsa new experiences for us as God blessed us with little Naomi!

Yup, our little bundle of joy..

Even though Naomi really tests our patience late late at nite(3-4am),

but well, our heart melts once we hear her sweet ah goo goo sound.. haha..

Anyway brought Naomi for Christmas Church service and I'm real proud of her.

Proud as in she was on her almost best behavior and din really go cranky..

well.. she did fart a bit... haha...

ok..

and so today Wifey & I took a break and had a little christmas dinner date at Marche,,

Nice food we have..

but we ended the evening early, my feet a bit tired.. and also sensing that Wifey's missing Naomi.

and so we fetch Naomi home yesterday noon.

She slept throughout the trip so it was a smooth smooth ride..

and also the 1st time i drive so slow... haha..

Anyway it was a pretty dramatic 1st nite at home..

with me reading the milk formula instruction wrongly..

and with Naomi crying n crying non stop at nite which caused us to sleep at 3+am..

well.. as tiring as it can be.. its a learning process...

and if GOD decides to give us a child, I'm sure that GOD will equip us with the skillset to take care of the child.

what we need is practice n time to understand Naomi..

Feeding wise, currently Naomi is on both breastfeeding n formula cup feeding.

Wifey is an expert with cup feed while i seems to fail at it..

I gotta practice harder...

Naomi seems to cry most of the time i carry n try to pacify her... haha...

maybe i din talk enough to her during the pregnancy period. maybe.

These 2 days are the MOST memorable days of my life..

Memorable in sense of both Joy & Pain..

Yesterady 4pm+:

We checked ourselves into TMC and Wifey was directly admitted into the labour ward .

Baby's estimated delivery date was 5th Nov and Doc Adrian doesn't want the baby to be in the womb beyond the EDD thus we had to induce...

The nurse inserted a pill/tablet into Wifey's private which I think it used to cause some dilation.

Wifey felt a little uncomfortable at this time.

Wifey's mindset is to go all natural and no epidural.

Yesterday 9pm

Wifey was transferred to the delivery ward and Doc Adrian arrived.

I was told to leave the ward for a while and when I came back in abt 45mins time, Wifey told me that Doc Adrian burst her water bag and it was a very painful & uncomfortable moment.

After the water bag was burst, contraction starts to occur and Wifey started to feel the pain every time contraction comes.

Time seems to pass by so so slow...

The contraction starts to frequent and Wifey is in unbearable pain..

Repeatedly, i asked Wifey to go for Epidural but she refused..

Nurse advised Wifey the same thing as the pain will only GET WORSE and Wifey's dilation is only 1cm+.

Only when dilation reaches 10cm then the baby is ready to be delivered..

It was 11+ at this time and nurse said that Wifey should reach 10cm by 7 to 8am the following day..

THAT IS 9 MORE HRS OF HARDCORE PAIN!

Wifey in so much pain still refused to go for Epidural...

Contraction frequents and when I see Wifey suffering, there is really nothing I can do except for praying, hugging and encouraging her...

Felt so useless as a husband..

and it totally breaks my heart seeing Wifey suffering for HOURS..

many a times, i almost teared... but i had to be strong..

2am..

Seeing Wifey's agony and pain getting worsen and fearing that Wifey still need to go thru this for 5-6 hrs more and may end up with no strength to push in the end, I had to really convinced Wifey to take the epidural...

Through countless attempt, Wifey finally agreed and she was given epidural..

Nurse mentioned that 98% of mothers used epidural during delivery..

As expected, Wifey started to feel numbness in her lower body and got some side effect like shivering...

The pain became more manageable at this point of time.

2am-650am..

Once a while, baby heartbeats seems to weaken and we had to alert the nurses...

Wifey was asked to breathe into the oxygen mask to provide more oxygen to baby..

At ard 630, Wifey had full dilation.. The nurse asked Wifey to PUSH, PUSH, PUSH..

nothing came out...

After a couple of attempts more, Nurse mentioned that this is not a favorable scenario and she have to call in Doc Adrian..

Doc Adrian came.. and again with the pushing and pushing, Baby is still unable to come out..

No choice and the Doc used the forceps to pull Baby out...

The moment I hear Baby cries, i myself felt like tearing..

Tears of Joy for our love creation and Tears of agony seeing the pain that Wifey had to go thru..

Wifey, besides GOD, you are the world greatest...

Words can"t describe how I felt during these 2 days.

Confirmed that the EDD is 5th Nov but Doc mentioned that there is 80% chance of giving birth before the 5th!

I think the build of my 40D is so much better than my MarkII..

Used 40D for abt 2 years and there is no single bit of dust on my viewfinder while for MarkII, used less than a year and i have at least 4 spots of dust TRAPPED on my viewfinder.

Fortunate thing is that it doesn't affect the images... but i just find it an eyesore.. Last weekend i even spotted a ant like insect crawling across my viewfinder!!!

Parents have aged a lot.

The hse is now very quiet after Bro & I both moved out.

Mum's ear is failing her and Dad's having some problem with his foot.

Dad is still very much a very on Buddhist.

With the arrival of Baby, hopefully it will be easily for me to encourage them to come our church.

And I am looking forward to them moving in to our new place in future.

and so my spin360 mop is spoilt thanks to my beloved cement floor.

attempted to mop again but this time we bought a $10+ mop from a hardware shop to try it out..

and this budget mop proves to be so much better than my 'branded' spin 360!

well.. at least it doesn't RIP after one mop and the mop doesn't get 'eaten' by my floor!

One thing for sure, the physical effort to mop my floor is at least 3 times tougher than moping a random tiles laid floor.. but complains aside, I still love the look of my flooring!

Pls dun ever engage Alliance Movers if you require assistance to move hse or move whatever stuff.

Today I engaged them with a simple task to shift my bed from Pasir Ris to Yishun..

Sounds very simple for professional movers(as stated in their website) right?

Reached my new place in Yishun and realised that during the shift, they somehow damaged my headboard with a hole bigger than 50 cents coin?!?!

Told them that they have to compensate and was told that there is no insurance for moving bed frame one and that they can only waive the movers fee?!?!

Ridiculous i find it..

I engage you. You damage my stuff. You pay. Doesn't it sound logical?

Anyway I've emailed them and is demanding them to make the necessary compensation

else I will bring it up to CASE.

Never expected that it took me almost 30mins to assemble the baby cot!

With the baby cot up, the room looks so so much smaller then it already it.

I seriously wonder how am I going to place the baby wardrobe.

And so our sofa finally arrived today although its a pity that we got to wash the cushion fabric first

before we can actually use the sofa.Ha.. Impatient me..

And today we test drive our vacuum and 360spin mop!Vacuum was pretty good..

New place is small so its still ok with the vacuuming..

As for the 360spin mop which I heard so so good reviews... Hmm..

I can only say either my flooring isn't mop friendly or the mop is just a expensive flop!

And so today dad suddenly called my mobile just before lunch..And said..

Kim, did u watch F1 last Sunday?

I said " watch for a short while only"

Dad said " I watched the entire race. It's 2 hrs 5 mins, did u see them changing tyres?"

I said "er.. Dun think so"

Dad said " they change tyres very very fast, less than 5 secs"

And dad then told me to carry on with my office work and hung up.

Dad isn't a F1 fan or a Soccer fan.. I guess he called me cos he saw me watching the qualifying race on sat. As for soccer, everytime he sees me watching soccer, he will ask whether that is Man Utd cos he knows I am a red devil fan and he will make small talk abt Rooney whom he only recognize.

Totally adore my dad.

He's the typical kinda of Chinese man that speaks little but I really enjoy any tiny conversation that I have with him.

It's such things in life that really brightens up my day!

browsing thru my facebook albums and i really miss the road trips which i had with wifey,

especially the Sydney/Melb ones..

Next year shall attempt a Bangkok trip with wifey & buddies and hopefully a australia farmstay

when baby turns 2.

Only managed a 20mins jog and i am panting away...

and so today accompanied Wifey to see our Gyn.

Ultra scan and everything is well.

Baby's weight is normal and is growing healthily.

Doc confirmed that EDD is 5th Nov.

Less than 2 months to go and i think we really need to buck up the hse moving process

and prepare for baby arrival!

Frankly speaking, its quite a shame that even though i am reading the bible every night and finding the teachings very real in our daily life and even though i totally agree with GOD's words,

i am still unable to really live a good christian life.

Its a shame that I turn into a completely different man when I drive,

totally unforgiving to motorists who did not drive properly.

I will remind myself whenever I'm on the road.

Its a shame that I sometimes hang around with people and engage in conversations

that wastes time.

I will avoid those conversations.

I will control my tongue.

I will not judge others cos its not up to me to judge.

Its a shame that I always feel very provoked whenever I heard -ve things abt me which isn't true.

Instead of calming down and rationalizing, anger overcomes me instead.

Anger is powerful but I will try hard to overcome them..

I believe I can do it..

I have my wife, my child and GOD on my side.

and with GOD, anything and everything is possible.

And so today is the 8th anniversary since we 1st hold hands!

Unfortunately Wifey is ill and so we can't go out and celebrate today..

Time really flies...

Time flies... Time seems to zoom pass once one reaches 21!

Anyway Birthday Off today and spend the afternoon jalan jalan with Wifey.
I told wifey... Her birthday this year will be better than mine cos got baby to celebrate with her!

Anyway we were thinking where to eat and ended up having lunch at Dome..
The place was almost empty except for our table and lunch was pretty nice..
(Wifey booked the whole place! Not!)

And so our ID have handed over our hse keys to us.

Officially renovation is completed but there are still some rectification work to be done next week.

Fridge and Washer will be delivered tmr follow by dining table next week.

Time to source for a sofa.

On another note, Wifey's gonna deliver in abt 2 months time.

My gyn confirmed that our baby's is a girl but my chi doc said its a boy based on 'hearing' of wifey's pulse while those auntie auntie also said its a boy based on the 'shape' of wifey's tummy.

Whatever the case, we don't really care..

cos boy or girl, we will love him/her too!

and so yesterday we attended the lesson on childcare.
Some great information which we learnt yesterday;
(1) Do not swing or shake the baby to pacify him/her when she is crying cos this is very very bad for the baby developing brain. shaking syndrome.
(2) Simiarly, do not throw and catch the baby mid air.. Again, bad for baby brain.
(3) Do not rub the baby skull cos the baby bones are still soft and could do some damage to the head.

Told Wifey that I am very blessed to have her by my side. Being a pretty impatient guy, wifey gave me lotsa advice which in time to come are really good advices.. These have been proven time n time again although most of the time, I was initially very disgruntled and sometime pissed.

Wifey, thanks for tolerating me! And I am sure that you will be a very good mother to our child. :)

This is 1 bz weekend.

Tmr morning to new place for toilet fittings, pm to sch for 4 hr lesson and evening to pre natal class!

Oh.. And Sunday pre natal class as well..

On a side note, the renovation to our new place is getting close to completion and we are so looking forward to moving in.

Very rare to wake up at 9am on a sat.

So decided to pump my mountain bike and do some cycling..

Cycled to my buddy shop at tampines and chit chat a bit before cycling home.

Ok.. Time to rest before going for a baby birthday shoot this evening.

Yup.. From a hub club member to a no hub member..

Cancelled my home cable tv, broadband and mobile service from star hub telco.

Now officially a singtel mobile user!

Sad to say, the mobile and data coverage isn't better than star hub.
